A special beach clean-up day has been scheduled for all lovers of the Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague OSV. This event, scheduled for Saturday, September 30th, will coincide with National Public Lands Day. This event kicks off at 8:00am at the OSV gate in Maryland and will end around 12:00pm.

Participants are asked to have a valid OSV tag for their vehicle. Park entrance fees will be waived. It is also requested that all participants have the necessary supplies: gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent for those pesky horse flies and drinking water. Trash bags will be provided to you upon check in at the gate. When checking in, you will be assigned to a specific section of the beach for clean-up. It is recommended that everyone who wishes to participate visits the event Facebook page to RSVP.

Upon your return (with trash), you will be entered for the gate prize drawings provided by local sponsors including JT Brooks, K-Coast Surf Shop, Fager’s Island and more. Double bonus, all members of the OSVCount.com who check in with their username, will receive a special participant badge on their user profile in the app!

If you do not have an off-road vehicle, no worries. You can still participate! Simply head to the North Beach parking lot at 9:00am. The park will assign you to an area on the walk-on side of the beach. Disclaimer: the park’s event is a separate event from the OSV and is not eligible for gate prizes.
