The 3rd Annual Boo-Que By The Sea kicks off October 20th at the Delaware Seashore State Park located in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Boo-Que features a professional barbecue competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, along with amateur and kids competitions.

At an extremely affordable price, this is definitely a great event for the whole family! Tickets are $5 per adult and children under the age of 12 are free with an accompanying adult. The cost of admission is included for 5K participants who pre-register.

The 5K Run/Walk is presented by Focus Multisports and is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st.  Early registration is open until October 15th. Early packet pick-up and event registration is scheduled for Friday, October 20th from 5:00-7:00pm and the grand event kicks off at 10:50am with a pre-race meeting, followed by the official start at 11:00am. Now, on to other events and activities! The Boo-Que opens at 4:00pm on Friday night with live entertainment by Side Project and the People’s Choice Wings Competition to follow at 6:00pm. Make sure the kids are dressed to the nines for the costume contest at 6:00pm and trick-or-treating from 6:00-8:00pm. Prizes will be awarded at 8:00pm!

The schedule for Saturday’s events is packed with barbecue competitions for both adults and children, including but not limited to contests for the best chicken, ribs, pork and more. The fun all begins at 11:00am with carnival rides and live entertainment by Funk Shue. After a delicious day of barbecue from all over the Mid-Atlantic region, the awards for best barbecue will be presented at 5:00pm. Capping off a day full of fun will be Lower Case Blues on the main stage from 6:00-9:00pm.

Pro tip – stay close to the festival so that you can enjoy the Beer Garden without having to drive home. Many local breweries will be on tap including Big Oyster Brewery, 16 Mile, Mispillion River and more!
