It’s time to celebrate! We’ve kept you updated with the Ocean Pines Association events ringing in 50 years with an ongoing, year-long celebration. The Ocean Pines community started out as a small coastal development. There were unpaved streets and more pine trees than residents. Now, it has developed ten-fold and grown into Delmarva’s not-so-hidden gem.

Ocean Pines started celebrating back in January with its Anniversary Sign Dedication and continued with an Anniversary License Plate Auction and Raffle in March. They celebrated with an anniversary parade, golf tournament, and 5K, but aren’t going to stop just yet!

Sunday, July 22 marks the Anniversary Beach Bash at the Ocean Pines Beach Club. The event will include a buffet of food, music, pool use, transportation, parking, giveaways and more. DJ Wax will provide entertainment throughout the event. Two 18-passenger shuttle buses will travel from the Worcester County Library to the Ocean Pines Beach Club from 1:30 – 8 pm on July 22 at no additional cost for event ticket holders.

As the Beach Club transforms, the Beach Bash will take place from 2-6 pm, with an after-party for adults only until 8 pm!

Ticket prices are $25 per person for adults, $12.50 per person for children ages 3-12 and free for children ages 2 and under. There will be limited on-site ticket sales at the parking lot entrance on the day of the event.

On August 11, immediately after the OPA meeting at 10 am, will be the Anniversary Time Capsule Ceremony. They will video-record the oral histories of Ocean Pines that will be included in the time capsule to be buried at White Horse Park. The following week will be the Anniversary Racquet Tournament.

Additionally, OPA will take over the waters with a celebratory boat parade on Saturday, Aug. 25 hosted by the Ocean City Power Squadron. Beginning at 2 pm, the parade will start at the judges’ viewing area at the community’s Swim and Racquet Club, located at 10 Seabreeze Road. Boats will then continue along the St. Martin River into the Windjammer then Moonshell Drive, Teal Circle, Clubhouse Drive and Harbor Village canals.

Judges will present three Judges’ Choice Awards. Each winner will receive a personalized plaque and a $100 Visa gift card. To spice it up, there will be a “Landlubber’s Yard” decorating contest in the effort to get waterfront property owners actively involved in the parade event. One Judges’ Choice award will be presented for the decorating contest. This winner will also receive a personalized plaque and a $100 Visa gift card!
