We’ve all got our eyes glued to our computer screens and smartphones each time a Police Department releases a Lip Sync Challenge video. Around mid-June, this new trend kicked off with Deputy Alexander Mena of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in Texas. Who knew one man singing along to the Kumbia Kings’ “Fuiste Mala” would begin a nationwide challenge?

As lip sync challenges are taking over law enforcement agencies throughout the country, it wouldn’t be fair if our local police department didn’t play their part.

It’s a sweet sweet life livin’ by the salty sea… OCPD is currently in the process of filming their very own original lip sync video!

From ‘America’s Best’ boardwalk to Stinky Beach to the iconic fishing pier, OCPD is capturing the essence of Ocean City in each camera shot. Woop-woop! We cannot wait!

The video will be about four and a half minutes long, and is going to be released… wait for it… tomorrow!

Not only is it a great way to humanize law enforcement officers and show that they are people, too, but it’s fun, great exposure and advertising for the town. This video, along with the others that have gone viral, is a much needed opportunity for the law enforcement community to change the narrative.

OCPD has posted their video to their Facebook page here. Check it out if you haven’t already!
