BOO! That’s right, October is in full swing and that can only mean one thing… Halloween is right around the corner. Here in Ocean City, October means the weather is fabulous and Halloween events are extensive. Think costume 5K’s, beach mazes with ghoul creatures, a great pumpkin race and a festive parade. There is no place we’d rather be!
Seaside 10 Mile Run/5K Halloween Bash:
October 25th
Ocean City is gearing up for what will be the 21st annual running of the Seaside 10. All are welcome to come wearing the most outrageous costumes you can dream up! Did we mention that it’s a great way to welcome Halloween?! The races will give you the chance to run up and down Ocean City and provides a fantastic view of the ocean. This is a wonderful family event and it’s suggested that everyone come in costumes to make the event even more fun!
Giant Halloween Beach Maze:
October 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th
From 10AM to 6PM on North Division Street Beach there will be a fun, scary beach maze set up for your family’s enjoyment. This is pure Halloween fun for kids of all ages with tons of fun activities! Wicked witches, pirates of the sand, scarecrows, and ghouls in the graveyard, zombies and more wait. Be there if you dare!
Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade:
October 18th
Show off your favorite four-legged friends at this fun pet-friendly event. The parade starts at 2PM with registration at 1PM the day of. The parade is at North Division Street, dress up your pets and parade the boards or sit back, relax and cheer for your favorite! There will prizes and surprises awarded and the event is free to participate. Donations of pet supplies and money will be collected for the Worcester County Humane Society.
Great Pumpkin Race:
October 25th
The fun continues with the “Great Pumpkin Race” on Saturday, October 25th at 1PM on the boardwalk near North Division Street. Participants build their own pumpkin race car to bring and compete in a wacky downhill race. Prizes are awarded in each division as well as for creativity.
OC Rally and Halloween Boardwalk Parade- Drive in Disguise:
October 25th
For the 4th year in a row, residents and visitors with a vintage OC license plate are invited to ride down the Boardwalk during the annual OC Vintage License Plate Rally. In addition to vintage license plates, anyone wishing to decorate their car is invited to ride down the boardwalk as well. Prizes will be awarded, various info booths are set up, and a DJ will play music. A spooktacular event!
Halloween Spook Out Party:
October 26th
The final Town of Ocean City Halloween party of the year kicks off at Northside Park gym for carnival games, arts and crafts, hayrides, snacks and so much more! Get your costume on and contests are scheduled through the event.
Seacrets Annual Halloween Party and Costume Contest
October 31st
Ok, so we know that with Halloween falling on a Friday this year, just about every bar, restaurant, club and home on the Eastern Shore will be abuzz with Halloween costumes, from the bizarre to the downright scary; but for the ultimate in costume contests, we are heading to Seacrets for their annual costume contest. Each year, 1st place winners receive a trip for two to Jamaica! We admittedly never even come close to winning the grand prize but we sure do love watching all of the contenders parade across the stage in Morley Hall!
