One of our favorite events that marks the start of the holiday season is the Holiday Gala of Homes. With a terrific turnout last year, it was no surprise when we heard that our local Habitat for Humanity chapter would be holding the event once again this year. Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County will hold its second annual Holiday Gala for Homes this Saturday, November 15th at the beautiful, historic Atlantic Hotel in our very own Berlin, Maryland. One of the most sought after events of the shoulder season, the Holiday Gala is a black tie affair and is promises an evening full of progressive dining, dancing and entertainment.
The success of last year’s inaugural event has turned the soiree into an annual one. The 2014 Holiday Gala for Homes will once again feature creative cuisine from the area’s finest restaurants. The event will also showcase music from four local and regional musical acts, along with an open bar offering top shelf liquor and fall inspired drinks. The Atlantic Hotel sets the scene, and is transformed and decorated exquisitely.
Last year, the event rose over $12,000, which benefitted Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County, serving area families by building houses and assisting with home repairs, exterior repairs and elevation projects in response to disasters. The gala tickets are $125 per person and include the open bar and silent auction as well.
