Hello June!! After a very rainy April and May, we sure are looking forward to the month of June and the official start to summer. We are hoping for plenty of sunshine next month, particularly as we plan to attend so many local events. The OC Air Show, Rehoboth Restaurant Week, 3rd Friday, Berlin Jazz & Blues Bash, Arts Alive, and more await us. See you all out there!
2016 Bras for a Cause
When: June 1, 5pm-8pm
Where: Ivy, Dewey Beach
What: Show your support for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition at this fantastic annual event in Dewey Beach. In addition to the fun-filled auction of the decorated bras, there are appetizers, a cash bar, and music to enjoy. Tickets are $35 online and $40 at the door.
Ravens Beach Bash & Ravens Roosts Parade
When: June 2 – June 5
Where: Ocean City
What: Ravens players, cheerleaders, and fans will gather in OCMD the first weekend of June for the annual Ravens Beach Bash and Ravens Roost Parade. The parade will showcase over 50 member roots from MD, DE, and PA on Saturday, June 4. The two-hour parade begins at 10am.
Jazz and Blues Bash
When: June 4, 12pm-6pm
Where: Main Street, Berlin
What: This year’s Jazz and Blues Bash in Berlin, MD will feature The Schrapnels, The Larks, New York Connection and Chris English. Look for plenty of food and craft vendors, craft beer by Burley Oak, and activities for the kids including a free moon bounce, face painting, crafts, and cotton candy for the kids. Admission and parking are both free.
Downtown Rehoboth Restaurant Week
When: June 5 – June 10
Where: Participating Restaurants
What: More than 30 restaurants will participate in the 2016 Restaurant Week in Downtown Rehoboth, offering diners the chance to enjoy prix-fixe menus with 3-course meals priced at $25, $35 or $45 per person. For a full list of restaurants, click here.
Top Chef of the Culinary Coast
When: June 9, 5pm-8pm
Where: Ivy Restaurant, Dewey Beach
What: Love watching Top Chef? Then you will love the local spin on the show as Southern Delaware chefs throw down for the annual fundraiser. Sample delicious dishes and vote on your favorites. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Meals on Wheels Lewes/Rehoboth’s Meal Sharing Program.
OC Car & Truck Show
When: June 11 & 12
Where: Convention Center, Ocean City
What: One of the East Coast’s largest automotive events will once again come to Ocean City, featuring a wide range of cars and trucks from tuners to exotics, trick trucks to super bikes. Tickets are sold a the door.
Ironman 70.3 Eagleman Triatholon
When: June 12
Where: Cambridge
What: Whether you’re participating in the annual triathlon or headed to Downtown Cambridge to act as a spectator, there will be plenty happening on Main Street on Saturday, June 12. Cheer on the amazing competitors while enjoying the celebration at the finish line!
3rd Friday – Paw Prints
When: June 17, 5pm-9pm
Where: Downtown Salisbury
Welcome the summer season in Downtown Salisbury on June 17 for their monthly 3rd Friday celebration. The outdoors event includes arts, crafts, vendors, live music, and more! This month’s theme is Paw Prints so expect plenty of animal-themed fun!
OC Air Show
When: June 18 & 19
Where: Ocean City
What: Head to the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City and look to the skies, it’s the 9th OC Air Show! The annual event allows beachgoers with the unique chance to see military jets soar over the Atlantic Ocean, along with aerial shows and demonstrations. This year’s headlining act will be the Thunderbirds, which will be followed by a full afternoon lineup on both Saturday and Sunday.
Firemen’s Parade
When: June 22, 1pm
Where: Baltimore Avenue (15th Street to 32nd Street)
What: As part of the annual Maryland State Firemen’s Association Convention in Ocean City, the Firemen’s Parade brings equipment, bands, and floats down Baltimore Avenue in Downtown Ocean City for a three-hour parade. Lineup along the sidewalks and enjoy the show!
Art’s Alive
When: June 25 & 26, 9am-5pm
Where: Northside Park, Ocean City
What: Art’s Alive is Ocean City’s biggest and best fine art show. Enjoy perusing a wide selection of fine art for sale in the beautiful Northside Park in uptown Ocean City. Ocean Bowl Skate Bash
When: June 28
Where: Ocean Bowl Skate Park, Ocean City
What: Ocean Bowl, located on 3rd Street and St. Louis Avenue will host their annual Skate Bash on June 28. The mostly free event includes skate contests, live music, vendors, concessions, giveaways, and more! For more information, call 410-289-2695.
2016 Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival
When: June 25 & 26, 9am-4pm (Sat.) & 9am-3pm (Sun.)
Where: Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal
