In a season dedicated to fundraisers, we think that the Minds in Motion Gala is one not to be missed. This special event is dedicated to raising the necessary funds to build and operate the planned Minds in Motion Children’s Museum for families on the Eastern Shore. With other learning centers located in Baltimore, MD and Wilmington, DE, the Minds in Motion Children’s Museum will be the first of its kind within our local area.
Designers of this special center are not only thinking short-term education fun for local children, but about the long-term effect it will have when our children begin thinking about their occupations as young adults. Children will have the opportunity to play while they learn with hands-on exhibits. These exhibits located within the museum will be designed to mimic local occupations like agriculture, engineering, the health field and more. Each learning center will cost approximately $60,000 and with a set goal of having at least 25 learning centers in total, it’s not difficult to calculate just how much this budding initiative will need to achieve their dream.
When we interviewed the team behind Minds in Motion, they explained to us that there are so many children living right here on the Delmarva Peninsula who have never even been exposed to the beach and ocean. How great would it be to provide these kids with learning tools that could broaden their horizons beyond what they already gain in school and in their home without having to go too far outside of their own neighborhood?
That’s why Minds in Motion needs your help. The Let’s Play Gala is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th at the Reign Restaurant & Event Center in Salisbury, MD. Attendees can expect to enjoy fun games like Planko, Foosball and Raffles throughout the night. Exciting appetizers, a gourmet dinner, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. A cash bar will be available throughout the night, in addition to dancing and live entertainment.
