“When you have a passion for what you do, you just keep doing it,” said Jill Ferger, owner of Six Eleven Salon and Gallery in West Ocean City.

After twelve years of experience in the beauty and cosmetology field, Ferger is still doing everything she can to follow her passion. After many  formal Christmas parties in Ocean City and Thanksgiving get togethers on the Eastern Shore last week, Ferger and her staff at Six Eleven Salon (9935 Stephen Decatur Highway, West Ocean City, MD) are excited about the holidays – especially  in an inspiring salon revolving around beauty and art.

The ladies of Six Eleven specialize in hair, non-acrylic manicures and pedicures, waxing, facials, full body treatments and scrubs, and can even offer air brush tanning in their spa room. Charlene Race and Megan Kelley, cosmetologists and hair experts at the salon, style strands while working at their individual stations in the sleek salon that now boasts a nicely decorated miniature holiday tree. Ferger specializes in waxing, facials, makeup – including airbrushed techniques, and spa related services.

“There are only three of us that work in the salon and we can do anything to help you look your best for any holiday related function,” said Ferger.

Mid-month, Ferger, Race, and Kelley will be assembling a ‘look book’ that will be presented to salon visitors as they enter the waiting area filled with comfortable antique furniture. The book is meant to be a reference tool.

“A lot of clients come into the salon with a picture from a magazine or off of the internet. We want them to be able to see the things that we can accomplish,” said Ferger about the salon book, “It will show different kinds of makeup, haircuts and colors as well as up-dos so our patrons can get a feel for our style.”

Hair and makeup rituals are typically amped up over the holidays. Who doesn’t want to look and feel their best when surrounded by dozens of friends and family members at fun functions? One thing Ferger is extremely excited about is the introduction of her new makeup line. The line, named after the salon, will debut later this week. The full-service cosmetic commodities will be used on customers who come into the salon to be made up. The collection includes foundations, eye shadows, lipsticks, blushes, and other commonly used products.

With a new makeup line to experiment with, a steady flow of customers wanting holiday haircuts, new winter hair color options, or a pick-me-up during the long winter in Ocean City, the Six Eleven Salon & Gallery look book will showcase the best of what Ferger’s salon can offer.

Six Eleven Salon can accommodate anyone’s makeup preferences. Whether a client is looking for something funky, daring, out of the ordinary, or a look for everyday wear, Ferger can recommend the best beauty selections to get the wanted results.

Feel the need to rejuvenate your style this holiday season? Take advantage of the many specials Six Eleven Salon is offering this December. Guests can enjoy 50% off a haircut with the purchase of a full highlight for a limited time. Ferger recommends a Pumpkin Enzyme facial peel to rejuvenate dull skin during the winter. All facials are on special for $75 currently, usually priced at $90. Shopping for someone else? Get a free manicure or brow wax with any gift certificate purchase of over $75.

Around the salon there are little red and green baskets overflowing with goodies any woman would love to receive as a gift. The gift baskets, filled with products chosen by Ferger herself, range in price from $20 – $100. There are skin care necessities, hair products, nail goodies, and men’s hair products tucked neatly into separate baskets, each the perfect gift for someone who loves feel-good specialties.

Six Eleven Salon & Gallery will be celebrating the holiday season on Saturday, December 17th by throwing a festive party. An art show will take place in the gallery portion of the establishment from 8 – 11 pm and is open to the public. Local mixed-media artist, Nate Britko, who just happens to be one of the talented chefs from The Shark on the Harbor, will be center stage. Britko is fond of found objects and mixing miscellaneous items, like string, cellophane, and fabric, into his paintings.

The holidays are a time when everyone deserves to look and feel their best. Ferger and the ladies at Six Eleven Salon & Spa know exactly how to make you feel ready for the season.
