It’s that time of year again, when my favorite holiday is on the horizon—St. Patrick’s   Day! I love this holiday because it is one of those times where you cut loose and be silly. I refer to St. Patrick’s Day as the New Year’s Eve of spring. This year I am so excited because it will be my first year spending St. Patrick’s Day on the shore! I’m planning to go to the Starboard Party in Dewey Beach to celebrate their opening weekend. It will also be one of the last weekends I will get to spend with a good friend before they say good-bye to Ocean City and head off to LA! Needless to say I am counting down for this “can’t miss” party.

Now of course the next thing on my mind is…what am I wearing?

There is a fine line between being fun and being tacky. Don’t get me wrong, I say on this holiday the more flare the better, but if you’re a fashionista you still want to rock your St. Patty’s Day look in style.

I’m opting for a fun statement t-shirt that says “Kiss me I’m drink, or Irish, or Whatever” that I snagged at Urban Outfitters for only $24.00. I’m going to pair this with skinny dark denim and my favorite taupe suede fringe booties. Next I’m mixing in some neon green accessories, so it’s not as predictable. I have a really cute brown leather bomber jacket that’s not too heavy but will keep me warm while looking sassy.

The most important thing is to pick something that you will be comfortable in. Secondly, don’t wear anything you wouldn’t mind getting beer spilled on—which is almost certain to happen. The whole point of St. Patrick’s Day is to have fun and cut loose.  You don’t want to be the uptight one freaking out about an expensive bag or shirt that got ruined.

No matter what you’re doing, hanging out or staying in, this is a perfect holiday to make a fashion statement in a fun way! Don’t be afraid to take risks or even make your own t-shirt. You still have time to grab something cute! If you don’t have any plans, you know where I will be. I hope to see you there!
Fashionably Yours,
Melissa
