From bratwursts to fine wine, and jazz to Um Pa—area events this weekend cover quite a range.  Wherever you live on the shore, there’s likely a celebratory festival happening not far from your own backyard.

Berlin’s OctoberFest

The quaint little historic town of Berlin hosts its first ever OctoberFest Saturday October 15th beginning at noon.  Berlin’s own Burley Oak Brewery is hosting the Beer Garden, featuring German-style beers.   Live entertainment by two bands.   The first is a regional act known as the “Cow Polkas”–and yes as the name suggests they are indeed a polka band–who like to change it up a bit and throw in a little western twang.  Additionally, Um Pa Band “The Wanderers” shares the stage.  Pretzels, strudels and other authentic German food will be available for purchase.
