Well it is a new year, which brings a fresh start! The renovation project at the Humphreys House is still under way, and will be for years to come. We are living in the home now and rang in 2012 with friends. We put the house to the test by having an Open House for those who were planning on attending the Town of Berlin Ball Drop, to stop by our new home for a champagne toast before hand! What a wonderfully warm feeling it is to welcome those you love into a new home. We also wanted to thank our friends and family who helped with the renovations, cleaning, packing and moving that took place just before Christmas.

Furniture is settled, the cabinets are full. The kitchen is functional, as is the main full bath downstairs. Square footage-wise, the home is smaller than our last, but seemed cozy being full of people. Conversation areas set up in each room, brings practical use to each space.

Being that the kitchen still is the main gathering area, we realized the pot rack is too low, and we need more seating. These are among the items added to our "To Do" list for weekends to come. There are still many items to be completed, both large and small. Once spring hits, we will be tackling the out buildings, including the chicken house. These are what we are calling our fun projects, as the re-creation of the Pirate bar is included in this. We look forward to sharing the rest of the renovation project throughout 2012, stay tuned!
