Socially Speaking is bringing something a little different to ShoreBread this weekend – Halloween activities and events happening around the shore! Since Halloween falls mid-week this year, we’ve made lists of haunted activities happening this weekend. Check out these ShoreBread suggestions:
Friday, October 26th:
Family Fall Festival – Ocean Pines, MD
Most Blessed Sacrament School will be celebrating autumn from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. Food, bake sale, and arts and crafts will be for sale. Face painting, cake walk, bounce houses, and slides will be available for minimal fees. Parking is free and the event is open to the public.
Saturday, October 27th:
Costume Party – Salisbury, MD
Visit Salisbury’s Poplar Hill Mansion on from 7 to 10 pm and join in on their annual Halloween costume party! The party will feature Andy Nunez, the author of Ghosts of the Eastern Shore. Nunez will be signing autographs and sharing stories of spooky mansions and overgrown graveyards of the Delmarva Peninsula. Refreshments will be served and a costume contest will take place. The party is for adults only. RSVP in advance and donate $10 to the Poplar Hill Mansion on the night of the party. To RSVP, call 410-749-1776.
Fall Festival – Ocean Pines, MD
The Ocean Pines Community Center will be open for trick-or-treating from 1 to 4 pm. Music, costume contests, carnival games, face painting, pony rides, and more will be available for participating children. Some activities are weather permitting. Admissions are free. The event will take place in White Horse Park in North Ocean Pines.
Halloween at the Zoo – Salisbury, MD
From 1 to 4 pm, the Salisbury Zoo will open their doors for a Not So Scary Halloween Party. The event is perfect for children ages 10 and under. Participants are encouraged to trick-or-treat throughout the zoo. Halloween games and costume contests are planned. Visitor fees are $5 for children, $2 for adults.
Halloween at the Library – Ocean City, MD
The Worcester County Library, Ocean City location, will hold their annual Halloween Party beginning at 10:30 am. Children are encouraged to participate in crafts. Refreshments will be served. A costume parade in scheduled.
OC Toberfest – Ocean City, MD
Celebrate all that October has to offer this weekend in Ocean City: OC Toberfest. From 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, the inlet parking lot will be transformed into a traditional Octoberfest. Events will be held on the beach at Dorchester and Somerset streets as well. A beach maze will be set up for adults and children. Halloween displays, live music, and activities will take place. A Howl-O-Ween pet parade gives everyone an excuse to see their pets dressed in fun Halloween costumes. Registration for events begins at 1 pm.

Sunday, October 28th:
Halloween Spook-Out Party – Ocean City, MD
Northside Park will be spookified on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm. Carnival games, arts and crafts, hayrides, and costume contests will be set up and take place at the park. Admission is a suggested donation of one bag of wrapped candy per child attending. Northside Park is located at 125th Street, bayside, in OC.
