A demonstration by the National Wheelmen’s organization will take place June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Grove Park, located next to the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and Rehoboth Beach Museum. The event is in conjunction with the Cruisin’ Exhibit now on display at the Museum.
The cyclists will be in period costume to demonstrate and era of cycling long past. The Wheelmen organization encourages reviving the memories of the 1880s and 1890s; the great cycling era in America. In addition to recreating “a golden age of bicycling” the organization supports the cycling movement and promotes fitness and clean air through cycling. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk with members of the organization, as well as witness the cycles in motion.
Consider riding your bicycle or walking to the event in the park. “If I can bicycle, I bicycle,” said Sir David Attenborough a British broadcaster, naturalist and the younger brother of actor Richard Attenborough, who starred in the movie Jurassic Park.
