Weekend Happenings: Eastern Shore Fun, July 25-27

Can someone please explain to us how July is almost over… where did the time go? We are shocked that it’s almost August. But on the other hand, we are excited for this last weekend of July; as it’s filled with fun outdoorsy things to do with the family. Ring in the month of August the right way, with some of these fun events that the Eastern Shore is proud to host… of course you can always just relax on the beach, that’s always our go-to!

Peach Festival in Milton DE

Head to the quaint town of Milton, DE and enjoy their annual Peach Festival from 3-6 PM on Friday, July 25^th. The Milton Farmer’s Market hosts the event and this year expect to see a little “party” added into the mix. They will sell cups of Dogfish Head’s trademark peach beer, Festina Peche, from kegs at the Dogfish Head tent. All the other sellers (there are over 20 of them!) incorporate and celebrate anything and everything peach into their offerings, from fresh regular peaches to peach ice cream to peach BBQ to peach jam. There will be live music as well so make sure to head on down to enjoy the flavor of the summer.

Big Fish Classic

Head to the docks that started it all in downtown OC, as fisherman battle it out in the Big Fish Classic. This tournament follows the tradition to bring the biggest fish back to the dock and weigh them in for the public to see. This tournament starts on Friday July 25^th and goes until Sunday July 28^th. The boats are allowed to fish any port from New Jersey to Virginia as long as they come back to Talbot Street Pier to weight their catch.

2014 USSSA Fastpitch Eastern World Series Tournament

Watch softball athletes battle it out in Salisbury, MD this weekend, as they host the annual tournament here on the Eastern Shore. Games and festivities will be played at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex.

Delaware State Fair

The biggest fair on the Eastern Shore takes place in Harrington, DE with tons of headlining artists, sinful foods, and attractions. Every year tourists and locals alike flock to the middle of nowhere to spend days sweating in the hot sun, eating fried, well everything and riding amusement rides. With plenty to do at all hours of the day, you definitely won’t be bored. The fair goes from July 17^th until the 26^th.

Hilltop Day in the Park Festival

Families from all around the Snow Hill Area area are welcomed with open arms at Byrd Park on July, 27^th at 11AM to 7PM. Better known as Snow Hill’s own family reunion, families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the free entertainment, good times, and alcohol free environment.
