The weekend is upon us, and after a few days of cold, dreary rain, we are looking forward to the brighter weather forecast and the terrific lineup of springtime events happening this weekend. The Tulip Festival in Lewes, Bacon Fest in Dewey, 2nd Saturday in Cambridge, OC Bridal Show in Ocean City…there are events happening all over Delmarva this weekend. Check them out here:

Backyard Habitat: Create a Wetland Pond Workshop

When: Thursday, April 9; 6pm-7:30pm

Where: Ward Museum of Salisbury

What: The Lower Shore Land Trust (LSLT) is offering their Wetland Pond Design Workshop tonight, April 9, from 6 to 7:30pm at the Ward Museum in Salisbury. Property owners and those considering a small wetland or pond for their existing properties will learn where to locate and how to create a pond that provides habitat for wildlife. Tips on how to choose appropriate native plants for local conditions will also be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

Delmarva Shorebirds Opening Night Celebration

When: Thursday, April 9 @ 7:05pm

Where: Shorebirds Stadium in Salisbury

What: This year’s Opening Day celebrations at the Shorebirds stadium are particularly special as the Shorebirds honor the first season of Shorebirds Baseball in 1996. Music and games will reflect the pop culture events of that time. The Shorebirds will be donning special throwback jerseys as well, and will continue to wear them on Friday nights throughout the season. Opening Night is also the first Thirsty Thursday of the season at the stadium, with 16-ounce Coors Lite, Miller Lite, and Pepsi products for just $2.

Rehoboth Get Down in Town

When: Friday, April 10, 5pm-8pm

Where: Rehoboth Main Street

What: Eat, Drink & Shop at the annual Get Down in Town spring event. $10 admission includes discounts, drinks, desserts, and other delectable treats from restaurants and participating stores. Enjoy live music by Paul Cullen at First Street Station and don’t forget to enter the Grand Prize Drawing ($1000). A Haunted Repast: Three Course Meal from Beyond

When: Saturday, April 11

Where: Dunes Manor Hotel

What: Author and Ghost Walk extraordinaire Mindy Burgoyne will host a 3-Course Meal from Beyond this weekend at the Dunes Manor Hotel. Dinner will be accompanied by a haunted history of Ocean City and the Eastern Shore. Reservations are encouraged and tickets are $69 ($89 at the door). Children 13 and under are $59.

Walk MS OCMD

When: Saturday, April 11, 9am-1pm

Where: Boardwalk in OCMD (Inlet to 19th St. and back)

1st Annual Paws & Claws Gigantic Yard Sale

When: Saturday, April 11, 9am-1pm

Where: Paws & Claws (WOC)

Lewes Tulip Festival

When: April 9-April 11

Where: Lewes

What: The Lewes Chamber of Commerce presents the 6th Annual Tulip Celebration. While the timing of tulips’ bloom can be tricky, the event will go on regardless, with three days of events and activities including celebrations of the town’s Dutch heritage. 2nd Saturday in Cambridge

When: Saturday, April 11

Where: Cambridge Main Street

What: For April’s 2nd Saturday, Main Street Cambridge is joining forces with the Dorchester Early Childhood Advisory Council and Dorchester Public Schools for a family-oriented event featuring crafts and activities to promote literacy and early childhood development. Community groups will also be present at the event, each with a fun activity for kids and families to enjoy.

Seacrets 12-Pack of Local

When: Saturday, April 12, 1pm-6pm

Where: Seacrets, Jamaica USA

What: Seacrets proudly presents the 12 Pack of Local Music Fest! The day of local fun will include 12 craft brews from local breweries as well as complimentary food pairings. The event will also feature 12 local bands, including Bad Since Breakfast, Full Circle, Daniella Cotton, Graham Alexander, Melissa Alesi & Lauren Glick, Alex & Shiloh, Old School, and Kaleb Brown. Tickets are $30, must be 21 or older to attend.

Dewey Beach Bacon Fest

When: Saturday, April 11-Sunday, April 12

Where: iDewey

What: Bacon, bacon, and more bacon! The Dewey Beach Bacon Fest returns with amazing bacon inspired samples. General admission includes bacon samples from each location. Guests will tour participating businesses with a scorecard to taste test. Registration is in the iDewey store from 8am until 12:30pm.

OC Bridal Show

When: Sunday, April 12, 1-4pm

Where: Seacrets, 49th Street in OCMD

What: Meet the resort area’s top wedding vendors while hanging out at Seacrets Jamaica USA! Vendors will be giving away wedding services and gifts, along with a free Caribbean cruise for two. Enjoy the Bridal Fashion Expo, Men’s Formal Wear display, a free appetizer and dessert, and more. Tickets are $8.50 online or $10 case at the door.
