The weekend weather forecast is looking bright! Sunshine and warm weather is on the horizon, and just in time for a fantastic lineup of weekend events here on Delmarva. Berlin, Pocomoke, Snow Hill, Salisbury, Ocean City…all of our local towns are celebrating spring with outdoor events and fundraisers. Check them out now and start planning your weekend before it passes you by:
Paint Snow Hill
When: April 16-April 19
Where: Snow Hill, Preview Party and Sale at the Old Firehouse on Green Street.
What: Art lovers, this one is for you! Over 70 artists will be painting in Snow Hill for four days, culminating in the “Wet Paint” Show and Sale April 18th (6-8pm) and 19th (12-4pm).
Poplar Hill Spring Fashion Show
When: April 16, 11:30am
Where: Poplar Hill Mansion, Salisbury
What: Head to Poplar Hill Mansion and celebrate spring with the annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show! Luncheon includes soup, chicken salad, pasta salad, gelatin salad, dessert, and Lady Grey Tea. 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury
When: April 17
Where: Downtown Salisbury
What: This Friday kicks off the 3rd Friday outdoor season in Downtown Salisbury with a brand new theme: Flora and Fauna! This month, celebrate all things plants and animals at Salisbury’s 3rd Friday events with live animals, local produce, growers, nature lovers and more. The Salisbury Zoo, Delmarva Discovery Center, local 4-H Clubs, Lower Eastern Shore Beekeepers Association and more will be on hand for the event.
Barks in the Forest
When: April 18
Where: Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum
What: Barks in the Forest returns to the Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum in Snow Hill this weekend! The annual event and benefit is a $10 admission for pups (owners walk free) and includes a dog walk at 10am along the Paul Leifer Nature Trail, door prizes and doggy treats, drawings for dog gifts, and watering and waste stations. It’s a great chance to get outside with your four-legged companion and enjoy the natural beauty of Furnace Town! Registration starts at 9am, the walk starts at 10am.
Cool Berlin Party
When: April 18
Where: Main Street Berlin
What: It’s time to celebrate all things Berlin! It’s been just one year since our quaint little town was named America’s Coolest Small Town by Budget Travel and what better what to celebrate than with a party along Main Street! Look for plenty of kids games, along with fun activities for all ages. Local food and desserts, local beer from Burley Oak, Children’s Parade at 1pm, juggling show, and The Kelly Bell Band performing at 3pm.
2nd Annual Romp in the Swamp
When: April 11-19
Where: Pocomoke Fair Grounds, 9am-5pm
What:Jeep enthusiasts will congregate in Snow Hill and Pocomoke this weekend for Romp in the Swamp 2. The weekend-long event includes a Meet & Greet/Jeep Invasion Friday night at the Harvest Moon Tavern in Downtown Snow Hill. Saturday. Enjoy the Show & Shine at 9am, followed by the Obstacle Course from 11am until 5pm. Sunday, the Obstacle Course continues from 9am until 2pm. Stay tuned for our photo coverage!
4th Annual Komen Race for the Cure
When: April 19
Where: Boardwalk in OCMD
What: The 4th Annual Komen Maryland Race, held each year in OCMD, is set for Sunday, April 19. Support and donations garnered from the event will go towards breast health programs and support for women, men, and families throughout Maryland who have been affected by breast cancer. This year’s goal is $350,000. To participate, go to www.komenmd.org/OC.
