The Worcester County Humane Society proudly announced this week that they would be holding the 2nd Annual Worcester County Humane Society Golf Tournament Thursday, May 28 at Eagles Landing Golf Course. The annual Pars for Paws tournament is another terrific opportunity for community members to contribute to our local, no-kill shelter. ALL of the money raised goes directly to the care of the animals at the Worcester County Humane Society.
“By having generous sponsors, the money raised at the event goes directly for the care of animals instead of paying for the event,” said Pars for Paws chairwoman, Sandy Summers. Last year, the tournament raised over $6,000!
The event will take place at Eagles Landing Golf Course with a tee off time of 12pm – registration starts at 11am. The generosity of businesses and individuals is what makes this event a success so players and monetary donations are of the utmost importance. Donations, players and sponsors are needed, including both monetary donations, volunteers, and donations for raffle prizes. Entry fee is $100 per player and includes a box lunch. Players will also enjoy a complimentary awards ceremony at Harborside in West Ocean City which will include one orange crush and a selection of appetizers. Again, all of the money raised through players, donations, and raffle tickets will go towards the WCHS.
The WCHS is located on 12330 Eagles Nest Road and is a non-profit, no-kill shelter serving all of Worcester County. The shelter relies primarily on donations from the public and fundraising events such as the Pars for Paws to operate so it’s important that we, as a community, continue to show our support. The amazing staff at the shelter (many of which are unpaid volunteers) provide food, vet care, and unconditional love until loving, forever homes are found.
