Mark your calendars for the 38th Annual Bethany Beach Arts Festival – this Saturday on the boardwalk in downtown Bethany. This event is always a crowd pleaser – and this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever! The popular one-day show will feature more than 100 fine artists and will include works of art from nearly every medium, including paintings, wood work, metal, photography, clay, baskets, jewelry, porcelain and much, much more! The event will get underway at 10 AM. Parking will be available downtown as well as at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (which is a quick 10 minute walk to downtown!).
For those planning to be in the area on Friday, kick off the weekend with a “Meet the Artist” cocktail party from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites. Sponsored by Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, the reception will feature renowned photographer Kevin Fleming, who has traveled the world and will be sharing his experiences and photos. Tickets for this event are just $25 and include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds will be donated to the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation. This year will also mark the launch of the “Bethany-Fenwick Area Chambers Arts & Antiques Tour.” The self-guided tour will be available to art enthusiasts who want to experience all the local area has to offer. The Discover the Finer Things Guide which will feature a centerfold map highlighting area businesses who create and sell fine arts and antiques. The map will guide visitors (and locals alike!) to some of the Bethany-Fenwick Areas hidden gems, many of which are just minutes from the beaches. The guide, with map, will be distributed in the Chamber Information Center and participating businesses throughout the year as well as on the art festival website at www.BethanyBeachArtsFestival.com.

The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) public vote: Five local high school artists are vying for a $1,000 scholarship. The public vote will take place from 10 AM to 3 PM. The check presentation will take place at 4 PM on the Bandstand where the winner will be announced.
Silent Auction: Presented by Mediacom Residential, and hosted on the Bandstand from 10 AM to 2 PM, guests can come and bid on items donated by the artists in the show. ALL of the proceeds go to support the four local elementary school art programs.
