There was an undeniable chill in the air this weekend. I
immediately started to think about cute cold weather accessories and
coats.  I am obsessed with hats,
scarves, and faux fur earmuffs. But before I buy anything new, I like to see
what I already own. This helps me from buying the same things over and over
again, which is something all shoppers do. I remember being in this phase where
I was obsessed with leopard scarves, and at the end of last season I had bought
four of the same style scarf.

I brought out all my cold weather gear and realized that I
needed to replace my gloves from last year.  My pair was broken; I had only one glove! Somehow I lost one
along the way. I’m sure my glove is in the same place as your missing socks
that never returned from the dryer!

There is a fine line between finding
cold weather accessories that are functional and fashionable while serving your
main purpose of staying warm, and looking cute while doing so.

I tend to over accessorize sometimes.
Luckily the “more is more” mentality usually works with jewelry, but with cold
weather accessories the “more is more” can end up making you look like a six-year-old
bundled up for a day in the snow.

They key is finding accessories that
you can wear with multiple coats. A good rule of thumb is to pick a charcoal
grey or ivory color palette, which works with any coat color. I love prints so
I do like to add those into my accessory wardrobe for a pop!

I recently purchased a pair of grey
leopard fingerless gloves from South Moon Under that I am obsessed with. I
know more leopard, but they were so adorable! Another great inexpensive place
for cool cold weather accessories is Target. You would be surprised at how many
top designers are collaborating with them. Check out some suggestions below for
my favorite picks. Remember winter doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice your
fashion sense, so the next time you bundle up, be sure to do it in style!

Fashionably Yours,

Melissa
