We moved in and the New Year has come and gone. I wonder if we were just racing to the starting line?!

“You gotta love an old house" is the sentiment we still have, however, it seems like a whole new project now that we are living here.  Added to the priority list alongside installing the front door's doorknob, is hanging artwork and photos.  All of it is important stuff, but it is important to balance everything, aesthetics (decor) as well as aesthetics (finish trim).

We have also have had a couple nights that have tested the insulation value of the house.  Forty mile an hour winds, temperatures below 20 degrees, and it seemed the new heating system was not working up to its full potential. The units were also making some funny noises, but we soon learned that it was all due to the filter already being dirty. Well there has been a lot of sawdust, drywall dust, and just moving in dust to account for. The dining room at the front of the home does tend to be a chilly room when the temperatures drop, but luckily the other living space have been cozy.

Living in the home has become rather comfortable, but we do know there is much left to do. Finishing the ceiling in the kitchen, painting the entire home, and putting up the beadboard in the upstairs rooms along with completing the trim throughout. We look forward to the continued work, which has been much easier now that we have actually settled in.
