June is in full-swing on the Eastern Shore, with a host of events in store to officially welcome summer 2014. This weekend is no exception, with more events scheduled than we could possibly attend. Arts, jets, firemen, wine and archeology make up this eclectic list of things to do, so no matter your interests, there’s bound to be something included in this line-up for you:

OC Air Show – June 12-15

The OC Air Show will blow through town this weekend, with high flying performances on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15. Visibility ranges along the boardwalk and beach depending on the weather. The central hub of the action is 16th and 17th Streets and the Boardwalk. The show is free of charge. Below is a tentative schedule for the event:

Thursday, June 12
7 p.m.: Bacardi Welcome Party at Blu Crabhouse on 24th Street. Open to public.

Friday, June 13
8 a.m.: Breakfast with the performers, Layton’s 16th Street
12:30 p.m.: Air Show Preview, Show Center between 15th and 16th streets
7 p.m.: Air Show Take Off Party, Cowboy Coast, 17th Street

Saturday, June 14
8 a.m.: Breakfast with the performers, Layton’s 16th Street
9 a.m.: Display Village and Premium Viewing Open, 13th to 19th streets on the Boardwalk
11 a.m.: Flight Line Club VIP and Hospitality Chalets Open, Show Center Beach, 14th to 17th streets
12:30 p.m.: Air Show begins, featuring U.S. Navy Seals Leap Frogs, Gary Ward & Greg Connell head-to-head, Sean Carroll in the Yak-9, Panchito B-25 Bomber flight, U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier Demo, Red Bull Air Force, Gary Ward in the MX-2, Geico Skytypers and Greg Connell in the Pitts Model 12
3 p.m.: U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performance
4 p.m.: Air Show Happy Hour, open to the public, Surfin’ Betty’s Pool Bar, 16th Street
7 p.m.: Air Show Performer Event, open to the public, Ocean Downs, featuring Navy Seals Night Jump

Sunday, June 15

Pocomoke Cypress Festival – June 11-14

The Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the annual Pocomoke Cypress Festival. Four days of fun will ensue from today, June 11 through Saturday, June 14. Games and events, arts and crafts, rides for all ages, and live entertainment comprise this year’s festival, including boat decorating contests, Pocomoke River cruises, duck derbies, raft regattas and more! Arts Alive – June 14-15

Hailed as the biggest and finest art show in Ocean City, this year’s Arts Alive event promises to deliver over 100 artists with works for sale. Also included in the event is the Artists Café, live music and free art activities for children.

Wine in the Park – June 13-15

Ocean City locals and visitors will enjoy the 2nd Annual Wine in the Park this weekend, with the opportunity to sample a variety of East Coast wines. Tickets are $25 and include a commemorative wine glass and sample coupons.

Firemen’s Convention – June 14-18

This weekend marks the beginning of the 122nd Annual Convention and Conference of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association. While the parade is not until Wednesday, there are plenty of exhibits to check out in the Convention Center in Ocean City this weekend.

Furnace Town Archaeology Dig – June 14

Join the Furnace Town crew this Saturday for a historical afternoon of fun. From 10am until 1pm, the Living Museum will be hosting a public archeology dig. Admission is $12 and Furnace Town members are free.
