Do you know the causes of premature aging?

Sometimes simple things we do everyday actually speed up premature aging. Free radical damage and toxicity are the main causes.

Some things you might want to start thinking about:

1.  What is the quality of air you are breathing? Any exposure to fumes, air pollution, or any chemical is an accumulation of toxicity in your body. If you have high exposure to any of these you should definitely start detoxing. Keep your windows open for fresh air, buy an air purifier for your home or office, and get outdoors often.

2.  Do you have poor digestion and elimination? If so yet another reason to detox because this is really unhealthy. Your elimination of the food you eat should be 45 minutes after your meal. If you feel bloated and tired after a meal, you may not be eating the best foods. Chemicals in food are one of the main causes of disease and aging of your body. Eating a healthy diet is very important but you may need additional support. 3.  High stress levels will definitely create havoc in your body and visibly age you, too. Hormones are affected by stress and can create mood swings, fat storage, skin problems, deeper lines in your face from muscle tension; and that’s just a few of many things it will do. Remember to take deep breaths when you are stressed. More oxygen is needed because stress makes us breathe shallower. Relax and unwind the best way that you can. (I don’t mean popping a pill and drinking a bottle of wine.) Take a walk, take an exercise class; go get a massage. Spend time around an uplifting friend. Do things that make you happy. All stress is temporary if we try to let it go and deal with it in a positive way.

4.  Bad skin care habits. This is huge if you care about your outward appearance in terms of aging. Many people will use a bar of soap on their face that strips their natural oils causing dehydration, leading to fine lines and deeper wrinkles. You want to use products specifically for your skin type because you don’t want to throw off the pH levels of your skin. Products that are too drying age your skin, and those with too much oil cause breakouts. There are so many products these days that it gets confusing. I can help you determine your skin type, but a daily moisturizer with vitamins A; C & E is essential to keeping everyone’s skin youthful. A daily SPF is also important to prevent free radical damage that breaks down the collagen in your skin; vitamin C is really a key ingredient you want in an SPF. I use Rain Organic Products.
