Dry brushing has been popular for many years. It assists the body to function better in many ways. Your skin is the body’s largest organ and it helps to eliminate and absorb. It is estimated that our skin eliminates over one pound of waste per day. Dry skin with clogged pores has a hard time doing it’s job. It only takes about 15 minutes and should be done on dry skin daily before you get in the shower. I know with a busy schedule those extra minutes may be difficult sometimes but the benefits out way any excuses.

This is why you should take the time to dry brush daily:

  • It stimulates acupressure points
  • Wakes up your immune system
  • Cleanses lymphatic system
  • Improves nervous system
  • Helps digestion
  • Increases circulation
  • Improves muscle tone
  • Helps to smooth the appearance of cellulite
  • Gives your connective tissue a massage and more…

How to Dry Brush:

It’s very simple. I like to start at the feet and make circular motions and move always towards the heart – that part is very important. Each body part should be done 7 or more times. It can take about 15 minutes to do your whole body. Spend extra time on cellulite and it will help to smooth the area with regular use. After you have completed your whole body, shower after to remove all dead cells and toxins. For an added bonus at the end of your shower, rotate hot and cold water three times. This will invigorate your skin by improving tone and circulation.

* I suggest using a natural bristle brush or loofah sponge. You can find them at a health food store or online. Always wash your brush after each use.
