Over this past Fourth of July weekend, the tournament team from Chesapeake Martial Arts competed in the AAU Tae Kwon Do National Tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Over 1800 athletes from across the United States and Puerto Rico competed in forms competition and two different types of sparring. The Chesapeake Martial Arts team sent 7 athletes and their coach, 6th degree Master Kim Heaney with the help of local businesses and sponsors such as D3Corp, Atlantic Physical Therapy, Fishtales, Harborside Bar & Grille, Kendall Furniture, Lankford Hotel, PCA Primary Care, Professive Radiology, Rug Rate and Shade Shack. The talented team earned 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals between the 7 competitors.

The Chesapeake Martial Arts team is hosting a raffle which includes 2 loaded gift baskets that boast $500 each of area gift cards from local businesses. The winner will be chosen on July 15th. In addition to the raffle, they’ve organized another fundraiser that takes place at Chesapeake Martial Arts on Stephen Decatur Highway. On July 25th from 7PM-9PM come out and shop for brands like Thirty-One, The Pampered Chef, Silpada and Arbonne Skin Care while supporting your local Tae Kwon Do team.
