De Lazy Lizard to Offer Ocean City Community Free Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday

During the holidays, we see local businesses constantly coming together and joining forces to give back to the community. Perhaps the best part is the fact that the local generosity comes purely from the goodness of their hearts. This week, we’re pointing the spotlight on De Lazy Lizard in downtown Ocean City. We’ve got three words for you: FREE THANKSGIVING DINNER. That’s right, De Lazy Lizard has planned a free thanksgiving dinner for ALL to enjoy this Thursday. Whether you’re flying solo this year, don’t feel like cooking, forgot to make a reservation, or are tragically enduring an A Christmas Story-esque catastrophe and had your turkey eaten by the neighbor’s dogs…the folks at the Lizard have you covered, for free!

Simply head to the main de Lazy Lizard Bar & Grill on 1^st Street and the Bay, from 1 to 4PM on Thanksgiving Day November 27^th, and enjoy a free thanksgiving dinner. “It’s for everyone,” said owner Todd Hays. “Police, emergency personnel, underprivileged families, lonely people, even people too lazy to cook. Most importantly our local community, we appreciate them so much.”

De Lazy Lizard is cooking enough food to feed approximately 250 people, so come early before the food runs out! “It’s just an honor to be able to be in the area we’re in, the local community is great to us and this is in honor of them, for supporting us always,” said Hays. Three local churches are making the event possible for the restaurant, including Holy Savior, St. Paul’s and Ocean City Baptist Church, who are each offering volunteers to help with the event and to serve the delicious food.

There will be tons of turkey with all the fixin’s, including cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, vegetables, rolls, cupcakes, iced tea, coffee and water. The meal will be served buffet style, making it convenient for all who attend. “You can really just eat as much as you want!” said Hays.

It’s shaping up to be a busy Thanksgiving week at De Lazy Lizard, with big plans in store all week long. On Wednesday, November 26^th, de Lizard is throwing a Thanksgiving Eve party with popular Annapolis band Little Bird Band. Just pay a $10 cover, come before 7PM, and enjoy a free taco buffet. On Black Friday, November 28^th, there is a $15 cover and if you come before 7PM you can enjoy more free tacos and listen to the Bumpin’ Uglies. In addition, De Lazy Lizard is offering 25% off all gift cards… which is a great present for those who love to go out to eat!
