Today I write to you about something different than beauty or Feng Shui tips. In the past I have shared many ideas to make you look and feel better. I have given you suggestions on improving the environment around you but what I want to talk about today is about something not outside of you but deep inside…matters of the heart.

Just a few days ago I got a phone call that rocked my world. My brother’s son Stevie Stone Jr., had suddenly been taken from us. I think for days I was in shock. I tried to keep it together to be strong for everyone else but days later something happened. It was 7:00 am and I was lying in bed in a family guest room back home. I was thinking about my brother’s death just a few years ago, now followed by his son’s, and about the profound notion that life really is so short. At that moment, I heard a loud thump. I sat up in the bed to look for something and across the room a picture had fallen. I knew in my heart who it was going to be and sure enough when I got out of bed to look, it was a picture of my nephew little Stevie. The tears rolled like a faucet had been turned on but I could hear his voice say, “Aunt Christy, don’t cry for me I’m okay.” At that moment reality sat in, there was no more shock but a comfort came over me that made me really believe he was okay. I knew he was in heaven with his father now.

I’m telling you this story because, really, life is precious and every moment counts. What I have learned from losing family and friends is that you should live your life with no regrets. If you are thinking of someone, call them; if you care about them tell them.

Life is not measured by the amount of breaths you take but by the ones that take your breathe away,” so goes a special quote I love.

Create special memories. If you love someone don’t hold back on showing it. Go see and help your sick friends; spend time with your parents and value the special people in your life. The matters of the heart are most important in life. I try to make everyday count now because none of us knows what lies ahead. I hope this will enlighten you to do the same.

Next week read my article about going back to school and how to stay germ free.
