In case you haven’t noticed by now, we are mildly obsessed with the snowy owl irruption on the Eastern Shore. While it has been exciting following everyone’s posts and photos, attending panel discussions, and interviewing experts on the beautiful migratory bird, we have been slightly discouraged over the past few weeks as we have tried and failed to find the snowy owl ourselves. Despite our best birding efforts, the snowy owl visitors on the shore have consistently evaded us…until this past weekend! Our resident photographer received a tip Sunday morning of a snowy owl sighting at Assateague and within minutes she was hot on the trail, camera ready. Take a peak at a few of the amazing shots:
